Senior Manager of Business Development (Full-time role in Kathmandu, Nepal)

Since the recent earthquakes, we are also providing immediate relief in the form of solar lights, charging stations, and water purification to the most impacted districts. We plan to play a prominent role in the reconstruction of the health sector, empowering clinics and hospitals with solar to provide modern medical care to rural communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop partnerships and programs with INGOs, NGOs, bilateral agencies, and strategic customers.

  • Think creatively of ways for SunFarmer to achieve its mission of delivering reliable and affordable solar energy

  • Develop a sales strategy, and quickly execute strategy with assistance from at least one Business Development officer

  • Own the SunFarmer project pipeline - you will be responsible for bringing in a significant amount of new projects, and closing the deals. Provide regular weekly reports and motivate the team to hit their sales targets

  • Conduct personal visits, correspondence and communication with government agencies, customs officers, partner companies and related stakeholders

  • Candidate should have a positive attitude and be willing to assist with a wide range of tasks

Education

The person shall hold a Bachelors degree from a leading university, and have excellent writing, communication and presentation skills (both in English and Nepali). Master’s degree is preferred.

Other requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a customer-facing role

  • Very strong communication skills

  • Ability to quickly build relationships

  • Sales will be an integral part of this role; prior sales experience is a huge plus

  • Proficient with MS Office package and Internet research

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites

  • Entrepreneurial spirit – Ability to quickly learn new concepts and get tasks done with minimal supervision

  • Driving license (at least two wheeler)
