Interviews from the road - Kathmandu, Nepal
The SunFarmer team took to the streets of Kathmandu to interview some local residents and volunteers about the power situation in Nepal - check out the video below! We heard time and again that even in the capital city of Kathmandu, electricity is not available for 8, 12, even 18 hours each day (depending on the season). Further, since the city is almost exclusively reliant on large hydro electric plants that do not have energy storage, this situation will likely continue for at least the next 5 to 10 years.
A huge thank you to Rishab Shrestha, Ashika Sharma, Pankaj Parajuli, and Ron Chen. Also, please visit the amazing Prithvi Concept Cafe in Sanepa, Kathmandu if you ever come through Nepal! It's an amazing place to relax, meet new friends, and try some great snacks (which often use ingredients from their own farm!).
